The Team Task Tracking module brings proven project management techniques to tactical operations. Visualize task status, manage workload distribution, and track progress through a familiar Kanban board interface optimized for field use.
A team leader assigns reconnaissance tasks to four team members. Each task appears on their Kanban board as TODO. As members accept and begin work, they drag tasks to IN_PROGRESS. The leader sees real-time status without radio checks, and completed tasks automatically generate CoT messages for command visibility.
Tasks flow through a configurable workflow that mirrors your operational processes. The default workflow supports common tactical scenarios while customization options accommodate organizational requirements.

Task updates are broadcast as Cursor on Target (CoT) messages, enabling seamless integration with tactical networks. Command posts and other ATAK users see task events appear on their map alongside other tactical data.
Because tasks have geographic context, you can query and filter them spatially. Find all tasks in a sector, identify nearby assignments, or analyze workload distribution across an area of operations.

Task assignment leverages ATAK's team roster. Select from active team members with their current positions shown on the map. Assignment considers proximity and workload for intelligent suggestions.
A new reconnaissance task is created in the eastern sector. The system suggests the nearest available team member based on their current GPS position and existing task load. The leader accepts the suggestion and the task is assigned with one tap.
Task data feeds into the Operations Dashboard for large display visibility. The task widget shows status distribution, active assignments, and overdue items. Perfect for TOC displays where supervisors need at-a-glance status.
Task tracking works fully offline. Create, assign, and update tasks without network connectivity. When connection is restored, CoT messages are queued and transmitted, ensuring no coordination event is lost.
