Collaborative Whiteboard

Real-time tactical map collaboration for ATAK teams. Plan missions together, markup live situations, and conduct after-action reviews — all synchronized via standard CoT multicast messaging.

Team Map Collaboration

The Collaborative Whiteboard transforms ATAK from an individual tool into a team coordination platform. Multiple users can simultaneously draw on the map, seeing each other's annotations in real-time. No special servers, no cloud dependencies — just pure ATAK CoT networking.

👥 Instant Team Sync

When your team lead draws a route on their device, it appears on everyone's map within milliseconds. Planning a patrol route, marking danger areas, or coordinating a search pattern — everyone sees the same picture, instantly.

Three Operating Modes

Every whiteboard session operates in one of three modes, each optimized for different phases of tactical operations.

Mode Use Case Key Features
PLANNING Pre-mission preparation Scenario layers, asset placement, unlimited time
LIVE Real-time operations Instant sync, minimal latency, auto-save
AAR After Action Review Timeline replay, stroke-by-stroke playback

Available Tools

Pure CoT Architecture

The whiteboard uses standard ATAK CoT (Cursor on Target) messaging. No special infrastructure, no additional protocols to configure. If your ATAK team can communicate, your whiteboard works.

Stroke Type CoT Type Description
Freehand a-u-W-f Freeform drawing
Line a-u-W-l Straight line segments
Arrow a-u-W-a Directional movement indicator
Rectangle a-u-W-r Box shape
Circle a-u-W-c Radial shape
Polygon a-u-W-p Custom multi-point shape
Text a-u-T Text annotation
Measurement a-u-X Distance/area measurement

Layer Organization

Keep complex plans organized with multiple layers per session. Toggle visibility, lock layers from editing, and assign different colors to different teams or purposes.

📋 Scenario Planning

In PLANNING mode, create separate layers for each contingency: Primary Route, Alternate Route, Emergency Exfil. Toggle between them during briefings, or overlay all options to compare. When you go LIVE, the active plan syncs to the whole team.

After Action Review

The AAR mode transforms your collaborative annotations into a powerful debriefing tool. Every stroke is timestamped, allowing timeline replay of how the operation unfolded.

AAR Capabilities

Offline-First Design

Like everything in Tactical AI DuckDB, the whiteboard works without internet. All data is stored locally in DuckDB, synchronized only via local mesh networking. Perfect for DDIL (denied, degraded, intermittent, limited) environments.
